Applying at NCC is as easy as 1-2-3

When you’re ready to apply to NCC, follow these steps:

1. Complete the NCC application form and return it in one of four ways:
• U.S. Mail
• In person (Building A, Student Services)
• Fax: 712-324-4136
Or apply online.

2. After applying, you must submit an official copy of your high school transcript or official documentation of your GED scores. If you have previously attended college or any other post-secondary institution, you must provide an official copy of your college transcript. This is required even if you do not wish to have previous work evaluated for transfer.

3. If you plan to obtain a diploma or degree, you must complete the COMPASS test prior to final acceptance to NCC.
• The entrance assessment will be given monthly for prospective students.
• Additional testing will be administered at the College by appointment.
• If you are unable to attend assessment testing sessions on NCC’s campus, you can take the test at another community college testing site and transfer the scores to NCC’s Admissions Office.
• Transfer students who are enrolling with 30 or more semester hours of coursework transferred to NCC or who have taken the ACT test will not be required to take the ASSET/COMPASS.

NOTE: Some programs of study require that you submit a completed physical examination form to the Admissions Office before starting the program.

If you are a new student, you’ll want to attend an orientation session. Sessions will be held at various times throughout the year, and you will be notified of the times and dates. Orientation includes review of student handbook information, academic advising, and registration for classes.

NOTE: If you have not completed all admissions requirements, you may be permitted to attend classes, but will not be accepted nor have any grades issued until all requirements are met.
