Cain, Ellsworth & Co. is an established public accounting firm founded in 1968 and located in Sheldon. The firm has specialized expertise working with clients engaged in banking, property and casualty insurance, and manufacturing. Cain, Ellsworth & Co. presently serves business clients in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota. The Cain, Ellsworth & Co., LLC Accounting Scholarship has been established to encourage students to pursue a career in Accounting at Northwest Iowa Community College. Proceeds will be split equally between two semesters and may be used for tuition, fees, and books. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be enrolled in their second year of the Accounting or Pre- Professional Accounting program.
• Must be a current resident of the Northwest Iowa Community College district or contiguous counties.
• Student must achieve an NCC grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The successful recipient must maintain a 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average.
• Submit an essay, not to exceed one page, which should address the applicant’s past academic achievement and educational/career objectives.

Eilders Endowed Accounting Scholarship*
1—$250 scholarship granted; Full time student

The purpose of the Eilders Endowed Accounting Scholarship is to support the achievements of students enrolled in the Accounting program at Northwest Iowa Community College. This scholarship has been established by Delbert L. Eilders, who was the Accounting instructor at Northwest Iowa Community College for 25 years. Applicants must have successfully completed one semester of the program. Scholarship proceeds will be utilized for tuition, fees, and books. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be enrolled in the Accounting program.
• Exhibit an enthusiasm for the accounting profession.
• Achieve a 2.5 cumulative grade point average through their first semester of study at Northwest Iowa Community College.
• Maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average; eligibility will be reviewed each semester.
• Submit a letter of reference or essay. This letter of reference or essay should address the applicant’s desire to succeed in the profession.
