The Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation Golf Classic was held on Monday, June 4, 2007, at the Sanborn Golf & Country Club. The following teams placed in the Four-Person Best Ball Tournament:

Second: Dick Schneider, Dakota Dunes, South Dakota

John Cain, Spirit Lake, Iowa

Third: Ken Hengeveld, Sheldon, Iowa
Leroy Van Kekerix, Orange City, Iowa
Dave Van Essen, Sheldon, Iowa
Eldon Hoekstra, Sheldon, Iowa

Fourth: Wayne Reed, Sheldon, Iowa
Brent Jensen, Lawton, Iowa

Tournament net proceeds were over $17,000. Proceeds from the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation Golf Classic provide scholarship opportunities for NCC students.

 



FOUNDATION DINNER THEATRE AND SILENT AUCTION

Symphony Dinner 2006

The Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation sponsored a
special “Foundation Night” Dinner Theatre at the Cedar Cabin in Ashton on Friday, April 13. The evening’s entertainment was the Off, Off Broadway presentation of “Forever Plaid.”
In addition to the dinner and show, there was a silent auction of items donated by
Foundation Board members. The silent auction items (with approximate value) were:
• (2) subscriptions to the Northwest Iowa Review $50.00 each
• A brass sheaf of wheat wall hanging $25.00
• A 30-minute massage $25.00
• A gift certificate for a ‘meal and movie night’ $50.00
• A gift certificate to Rockman’s Clothing $50.00
• (2) tickets to the Sioux Falls Symphony $100.00
• (2 ) club seat tickets to the Sept. 8 Iowa Hawkeye game vs. Syracuse $200.00
• A $50 savings bond $50.00
• A lawn/field sprayer with trailer and boom $1500.00
• A picnic package (cooler, grill, meat certificate, etc.) $100.00
• (2) Iowa State football tickets to the Nov. 3 Kansas State game $100.00
• A Michael Jordan 1988-89 Fleer basketball card $50.00
• A gift certificate to Lady B’s $25.00

The money raised went to scholarships that will be ‘Transforming Lives’ of
current and future NCC students.

The 20th Annual Foundation Golf Classic was held on Monday, June 6, at the Sheldon Golf & Country Club. The weather was great and our 96 golfers really enjoyed the day. Hamill Motor Company of Sheldon sponsored a hole in one contest for a new pick-up. We had some close shots, but nobody was able to win the big prize! We also had several other special holes which prizes were awarded. Cedar Cabin catered a light lunch and meal that evening. The following teams placed in the Four-Person Best Ball Tournament:

First: Dick Schneider, Dakota Dunes, SD; Marc Jacobsen, Okoboji; Gene Hagen, Dakota Dunes, SD; and John Cain, Okoboji Second: Leroy Van Kekerix, Orange City; Ken Hengeveld, Sheldon; Gary Doppenberg, Sheldon; and Dusty Doppenberg, Sheldon
Third: Mike Fleming; Kyle Grimes; Marty Richardson; and Terry McMillen, all from Sibley
Fourth: Peter Hamill, Sheldon; Duane Wahlstrom, Sheldon; Kevin Jansma, Rock Valley; Jason Van Den Top, Rock Valley

Net tournament proceeds were over $15,300. Proceeds from the Foundation Golf Classics provide scholarship opportunities for NCC students. Thanks to all who participated and contributed to the success of the tournament.

 

 

NCC Symphony Dinner

Symphony Dinner 2006

The Foundation Symphony Dinner was held on Monday evening, January 16, at The Intermission Restaurant in Rock Rapids. Over $4,200 was raised to support student success through scholarships. There were 117 individuals in attendance who enjoyed a scrumptious meal and excellent music provided by the Northwest Iowa Symphony Strings under the direction of Dr. Henry Duitman with Norm Gaines on the saxophone. The program was entitled “Waltzes and All That Jazz” which prompted a standing ovation at the conclusion. Thank you to all staff, retirees, students, and trustees who attended the event.
